This is very beautiful...Yes it is... Also try early Mike Oldfield albums from the 70's. They're just as beautiful -- often better.
I have come over a few times now to look at your mod. I like it very much. One thing I am wondering - for audio files - how do they work? Are they uploaded to the website's server or can they be simply linked to/loaded from another storage.Uploaded, for now. If you link to another server, and the auto-embedder is correctly set up, it will embed, but it'll use an external player. It is in my to-do-list to make it playable with the local player (JWPlayer here), though.
My worry is the amount of memory/space they take up. If we can link from the visitor's storage it will be exactly what I am looking for... :) I have not had time to listen to it all as it is a long piece - but I will be back because I like it very much. There are two long tracks... And there are plenty of other great tracks on Foxprog. Just look for those with the best ratings! Try Harmonium, too. They hit the nail when it comes to 'beautiful'.
I am only hesitating on the 'subscribe' 2. version until I hear about how items are stored. What a beautiful website you have here. Very much enjoying visiting.Thanks.
EDIT: Just to let you know, I didn't put in all the capitals! The post seems to format itself. I don't want you to think I was shouting or emphasizing anything...I'm not sure why you saw it iin capitals... Showed up in lowercase just fine for me!
I know Mike Oldfield! :gnehe: My brother used to play Tubular Bells all the time... a beautiful piece indeed - best listened to at night with the lights off ... okay I am back to hear this properly.Oldfield remade TB a few years ago, as 'Tubular Bells 2003' I believe (30th anniversary), replacing the original voice over with John Cleese. An interesting move.
Also, I like everything I see here... the blog aspect is a lovely personalisation. What mod are you using for this?Nothing. It's all custom code.
I notice too, you have changed the text on ultimate profile (think you use that) for the photos! I like being a vampire! And other places. Nice touch.Yes, it's UltimateProfile, but heavily modified. It has a gallery module and originally I was using that, but it was too limitating so in the end I made my own gallery code... Which some people are bound to have noticed. :P
If the audio side of things is included in this package I would be very happy to subscribe and indeed help you with testing new things here.Audio is included in AeMe 1.x. What is in 2.x is the rest of Foxprog's features -- playlists, animated audio player, linked topics, etc.
I really loved the first track! Put me mind of another band called Camel... again mid to late 70's... here's a youtube clip to their Snow Goose (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZTVnCyDoQlQ) Another track for lights off listening. But Asturias is far more beautiful. Camel has kind of dated, I do not think what you have here will :)Oh, Camel has some really good stuff... I love Snow Goose, but I prefer the live version (they recorded it in Paris, in 1980). They also have a couple of other great albums.
